About/Cv

A R T I S T S T A T E M E N T

My artwork expresses evolving definitions of home through architecture and residential minutia. As I search for a home within myself, I create installations, prints, and soft sculptures that depict frayed tales of intimacy and isolation. Their conceptual infrastructure reference domestic spaces that I, my ancestors, and complete strangers inhabit as well as the unseen and irreversible consequences of our biological histories. Molding, mirrors, windows, coffins, and discarded lingerie are referenced to express multiple scenarios of love and loss. Strangers’ homes become an empty canvas to project questions regarding my identity, self-doubt, anger, and desire. I use poetry, printing, stitching, and video to process my familial history and experience as a method to predict my own future.
