Fictional Foundations
Installation. Dyed and cut fabric, assorted sizes. 2024. Anne Bryant Gallery at PAFA.
Fictional Foundations depicts a collection of home silhouettes; cut to reference homes of influential people from my past and present. The gauzy fabric structures overlap chronologically to form a neighborhood of memory.

Neighborhoods
Cyanotype. 9x12 inches. 2022-2024.
“Neighborhoods” compares the aesthetic and functional properties of lacework and residential architecture through cyanotypes, or “sun prints”. Handmade doilies from my family and photo negatives of nearby construction sites are organized side by side; comparing the intricacy of both mediums. The nature of cyanotypes highlights the concept of impermanence; even the slightest adjustment of materials can blur and obscure the resulting image. From the flimsy to the sturdy, time and power distort structures and memories.
